About Her
- Dr Young is a clinical psychologist in independent private practice, assessing and treating adults with depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, chronic pain, post-traumatic disorder, and other psychological problems. Psychologists are trained in a broad range of problem-solving strategies, psychological testing, and scientific research, as well as providing basic services for helping people resolve personal, family and work problems.
- Dr Young earned a Doctor of Psychology degree (Psy.D.) from Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky, after completing Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling Psychology graduate programs at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. She took her internship at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. From 1988 to 2001, her private practice was in Lexington, Kentucky, where she also served as consultant and referral contractor with the Fayette County Attorney’s Office and Sheriff’s Department and performed forensic evaluations of criminal defendants, seven of which were death penalty cases.
- Dr Young is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Texas Psychological Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and a Clinical Member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. She has been nationally recognized by the National Register of Health Services Providers in Psychology.
